The story is about a boy named Simon Green, who is fifteen
years old, and who has completed the third grade for the fourth time. His parents are dead so he lives with his
aunt and uncle. Everybody says that he can’t do anything and that his "pea-brained".
So Simon buys one thousand turkeys and he walks them from Missouri to Denver.
Is he going to meet people?
Is he going to sell a lot of turkeys?
Is his father alive by chance?
Is he going to make it to Denver?
Is he going to eat any turkeys?

The story is about a fifteen year old boy called Simon Green who failed the third grade for the fourth time!!! Then his teacher (Miss Rogers) says “you need to spread your wings” ; there is no use of doing the third grade for the fifth time. Afterwards he decides to buy one thousand turkeys and to walk them from Missouri to Denver with Mr. Peece. On the way he meets mysterious people.
